The Glass Menagerie

ABOUT THE PROJECT. 

​I directed and produced Williams's The Glass Menagerie for The Hanover Theatre Repertory, where I currently serve as Artistic Director. I found my way into the "memory play" structure through the character of Tom, which I double cast with an older actor (Steven Barkhimer) to carry the monologues and a younger actor (Brad Goren-Wilson) to carry the scenes. Meri Stypinski, Cheryl McMahon and Luis Rivera Figueroa rounded out an extraordinary ensemble, which reminded me and our audience just how far brilliant, disciplined actors can take us with rigorous, specific, moment-to-moment work, especially when we lean into finding the love and playing up the humor.

This is great professional theatre that would stand up in any city in America.
