Worcester Playmaker
ACTING. DIRECTING. PRODUCING. TEACHING. LEADERSHIP.
I call myself a Playmaker because no one title -- actor, director, producer, teaching artist -- quite fits the bill. Currently, I serve as Artistic Director of The Hanover Theatre Repertory, Managing Director of the Jean McDonough Arts Center, and Lecturer in Theatre at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
All that said: whether I am producing, directing, acting and or teaching, I endeavor to create unpretentious theatrical events rooted in rigorous moment-to-moment specificity and a minimalist aesthetic. Put plainly: theatre should be entertaining, accessible, inspiring, FUN. As a director, I have a particular thing for large-cast productions and heightened language plays. As an actor, I also have a couple solo shows up my sleeve, including Judith by Katie Bender. Also, I'm always coming out. Turns out it's a never-ending process. Also a process that continually feeds my creations. Importantly, I currently live in Worcester, MA: the heart of the Commonwealth! Having lived in Manhattan, Boston, Cambridge, and Providence, I can confidently say that Worcester is very, very special. I'm delighted to be making theatre here. I'm a member of Actors' Equity Association with an MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep and a BA in Theatre + Dance from Amherst College (summa cum laude). On my portfolio page, you'll find a selection of my favorite work. If you would like to request a CV or resume, etc, please let me know. And if you like what you see here, rest assured there's much more where it all came from. |
